Are you interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith? As an adult, do you desire to be baptized or to complete your initiation into the Catholic Church by receiving the sacraments of Holy Eucharist and/or Confirmation? Have you been away from the Catholic Church and wish to return, but do not know the reasons for the changes since the Second Vatican Council? If you have answered Yes to any of these questions, the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process used in the Catholic Church for instruction in the Faith and for spiritual preparation for receiving the sacraments. Those who complete the program and choose to become Catholics are baptized; if they are already baptized in any faith, they make a Profession of Faith. The reception of the sacraments takes place at the Easter Vigil, the evening before Easter Sunday. Our program begins in October and ends during the Easter season. Sessions take place on Sunday morning, usually after the 10:00 A.M. Mass. If you would like to enter into the program or would like to receive more information, please call the parish office at (412) 922-6300 or the Religious Education Administer at 412-928-2742 ext 8. |
