Our parish's annual Memorial Mass will take place this year on Monday, November 3 at 7:00 P.M.   During the Mass we will pray for all the deceased who were buried through Saint Philip Parish from All Souls Day of 2013 to All Souls Day of this year.  Family members are invited to attend and light a candle in memory of their loved one.  The Mass is not limited to the families of those who died during this past year.  All are welcome to attend and pray for their dearly beloved whose souls we commend to the Lord.

You may have seen the article in the Pittsburgh Catholic newspaper last year about Nikki Bruni, her conversion, her pro-life work and her traveling pro-life art display called the "Memorial of Mercy".  It is an image of Jesus' Divine Mercy created from 2,484 pictures of babies.  Nikki will bring the image to our parish on Thursday, October 30 where it will be on display on the left side of the church, close to the ramp side entrance.  It will remain there until November 12.  Literature will be available nearby to explain the image.  It will also be a vivid reminder to us of the sacredness of life and of God's Divine Mercy as shown us in Jesus Christ our Savior.  In conjunction with the display, the Divine Mercy Mission will take place on Sunday, November 2 at 3:00 P.M.

October is Respect Life Month.  This year's theme is taken from the words of Pope Francis: "Even the weakest and most vulnerable, the sick, the old, the unborn and the poor are masterpieces of God's creation, made in His own image."

There will be a special Divine Mercy Devotion and Mission at Saint Philip Church on Sunday, November 2 starting at 3:00 P.M.  The Sisters of the Reparation of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus from Steubenville, Ohio, will present the message of Divine Mercy as given by Our Lord to Saint Faustina.

The program will consist of Benediction, the Divine Mercy Chaplet, the Divine Mercy message by the Sisters, an opportunity for individual confessions, and veneration of Saint Faustina's first class relic.  Following the Devotions there will be an informal reception in Father Kelty Hall (church basement) along with the sale of religious items.

Please bring your family and friends and learn more about this beautiful devotion to the Mercy of God.
